Dr Valeska Padovese

Dr Valeska Padovese is dermatology and venereology consultant with extensive experience in refugees and migrants health. Dr Padovese worked in Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti and Afghanistan in projects dealing with skin diseases and STIs/HV. In 2015 she moved to Malta where she leads the Genito-urinary clinic team at Mater Dei Hospital. Dr Padovese is senior lecturer at the University of Malta, ILDS Advisor for STIs, HIV and migrants health and Associated Editor of the British Journal of Dermatology

Dr Lawrence Scerri
VICE PRESIDENT IUSTI EUROPE 2023

Dr Lawrence Scerri, MD, FRCP, is President Maltese Association of Dermatology & Venereology, Consultant Dermatologist & former Clinical Chair of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Mater Dei Hospital, Senior Lecturer University of Malta, Postgraduate Training Coordinator for Dermatology & Venereology, Treasurer of UEMS section and board of Dermatology and Venereology and President of Malta Medical Tennis Association. He was previously board member of EADV, chairman of the membership committee and CME-CPD committee of EADV & founding member of EuroMelanoma Task force. Dr. Scerri has published and presented extensively and his areas of special interest and research include acne, inflammatory dermatoses, skin cancer, sun awareness, and marine dermatology.

Dr Tanya Melillo
GENERAL SECRETARY IUSTI EUROPE MALTA 2023

Dr Tanya Melillo is a specialist in public health with a PhD in this field. She has been heading the infectious disease unit in Malta for the past 12 years. She is responsible for migrant health, preparedness and response planning and surveillance of all notifiable infectious diseases.

Dr Michael Boffa
LOCAL SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE CHAIR

Dr Michael Boffa is Chairman of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Mater Dei Hospital, and Senior Lecturer at the University of Malta. He is currently Vice-President (and Past President) of the Maltese Association of Dermatology and Venereology. He was EADV Board Director (2009 - 2015) and Honours & Awards Committee Chair (2015 - 2019).

Dr Donia Gamoudi
LOCAL SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE MEMBER

Dr Donia Gamoudi graduated from the Malta Medical School as a doctor of medicine and surgery in 2011 and then became a Consultant in Genito-Urinary Medicine in Malta in 2020. Her work led to a specialisation in the field of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), HIV, contraception and psychosexual medicine. During her training, Dr Gamoudi obtained 3 diplomas in Genitourinary Medicine, HIV Medicine and Sexual and Reproductive health.

Dr Katya Muscat
LOCAL SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE MEMBER

Dr Katya Muscat graduated as Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Malta in 2012 and obtained her MRCP in 2015. She is a Genitourinary Medicine Specialist, having trained in Sexual Health and HIV at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. She currently works as a Resident Specialist at the GU Clinic in Malta.
